Lion Bar is a controversial one, some people state a harsh dislike to these bars, but I quite like them, even if it is mainly for their Happy Hour. If you are looking for cheap drinks, this is a place to try. Their happy hour beer is 25kr for 40cl, which is the best I have come across so far. The other drinks on offer during happy hour are also very well priced.
They have three bars across the city and they each have a different style. The one closest to Hötorget station is my favourite. It is small, dark and dingy (with toilets to match!) but I do quite like it there. The staff are always really nice, they offer free WiFi and you can charge your phone. This one also has a ‘secret’ upstairs area. If you take the staircase next to the entrance this brings you into another seating area which also has a bar. This is only open some evenings as far as I know, but good to check if it is open and there is nowhere to sit downstairs. Plus this floor has an additional toilet which is helpful to know when it gets busy.
An added bonus is both of the Lion Bar on Sveavägen have some outside seating, even if they are facing the road.
